About Me

LUTHER JOHNSON, MBA

Luther Johnson was born in Ohio but now resides in San Antonio, Texas.  He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the Columbus College of Art & Design and spent several years as a professional painter.  His murals could be seen in retail stores like The Limited, Structure, and Bath and Body Works.  Luther eventually changed his creative focus to the television industry.  He earned the prestigious Telly Award for his Art Direction on the documentary “Forjando Una Communidad: Mexicans Forging a Community in Detroit.”

After learning that he had an aptitude for software development, Luther began managing software projects and leading user interface teams in various industries.  If you have ever used your smartphone app to deposit checks into your bank account, you have personally used his software.  He was on the development team for an early iteration of that software that has since been patented and licensed to many banks and credit unions nationwide.

Luther Johnson has worked in the insurance and banking industry for almost 15 years.  He earned his MBA with a focus on e-commerce and is currently a Business Finance Ph.D. candidate.  Today, Luther is a #1 Amazon Best Selling Author and a Financial Services Professional licensed to sell securities and insurance products through various independent unaffiliated insurance companies.  He offers a variety of strategies that can help his clients reduce their federal income tax liability and keep more of their money.

Luther is an experienced business manager, and in 2017, he co-authored the book “Becoming Chocolate Barbie: A Guide for professional women in the music business” with his wife.  He and his wife run a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, Colors & Song, that trains high school musicians on how to have a career in the entertainment industry.  Luther also manages the annual Althea Rene Colors & Song Jazz Fest, which is hosted in San Antonio, Texas.
